The Mandala Ritual of Tara

The creative faculty of our mind is very strong. It is this strength that exerts itself in the fervent prayer addressed to Tara. Together with Tara’s immense will to help beings, this strength makes possible [Tara’s] protection. The help that we receive is the fruit of the meeting of these two factors, the force of our devotion and Tara’s compassion. Bokar Rinpoche

Lama Döndrup will lead the Mandala Ritual of Tara once a month this fall.

Green Tara is the embodiment of the awakened quality of compassion, and she is committed to instantly come to the aid of any being in need.

We engage in Tara practice to actively call on her to pacify our fear and the fear of all beings, and to protect us and all beings from danger. In doing so, we also cultivate these compassionate qualities in ourselves which are innate to each one of us, but are often obscured. Additionally, in developing a personal relationship with Tara, we are developing our relationship to the enlightened feminine aspect of Awakened Mind.

Lama Döndrup will offer guided visualization during the practice, but will not be giving teachings outside of the practice. This puja will usually be done in Tibetan, and can serve as an introduction to students wanting to experience a Vajrayana practice.  Lama Döndrup’s recorded teachings on this practice will be available with her permission.

Prerequisites: Some understanding of Vajrayana practice and meditation experience is highly recommended.  Please email with any questions.

Location: Sukhasiddhi Center, Fairfax CA.

Registration: Register Here. Drop ins are also welcome.

Cost: Donation. Contribute online or by cash or check when attending the event.
