LIBERA — The Study of Moving Freely

with Zuleikha, international performer, movement artist, and educator

Friday Night: 7 – 9pm – Libera ~ Embrace and Enliven

Saturday 10am – 2pm – Libera ~ BodyListening and ~ The Creative Imagination

a Movement Awareness Practice (“MAP”)

Take a spin with Zuleikha, one of the creators  of The Rumi Concert with Coleman Barks, and spend some time at play in the field of Libera, the study of moving freely. Everyone welcome—those who are well and those who are healing.

When movement comes from feeling, ease comes. Using depth of feeling with movement arts, Libera can help to open new pathways and unwind habitual patterns. Engaged in moving freely in one’s own creative Movement Awareness Practice (MAP), greater understanding unfolds.

Living in today’s challenging world, the benefits of this practice are numerous. Improving circulation and increased range of movement in the joints brings expansion into our awareness. This creates a sense of calm and clarity. When our minds are cluttered with to-do lists and the solving of impossible problems, moving freely can be a splendid tool for the awareness of grace.

Friday Night: 7 – 9pm – Libera ~ Embrace and Enliven

Enliven the body, heart and soul through an invitation to explore the fun of free movement, the depth of feeling, and the celebration of life. We will be working with the Libera Movement Awareness Practice set against a backdrop of poetry and world music.

Saturday 10am – 2pm – Libera ~ BodyListening and ~ The Creative Imagination

An invitation into world of inspiration through the body’s creative imagination as it moves through deep space.  Discover the art of moving freely without planning ahead. Uncover what unfolds from awareness, beginning with floor-based BodyListening, allowing for a conversation inside the body. When the spirit moves inside you, there is opening for new insight. Explore what can be learned from earth and space, as we move into standing and full range of motion. Music will be used as the background for emotional inspiration.

Everyone welcome—those who are well and those who are healing.
