Liberating Emotions into Wisdom and Love:
The Path of Buddhist Tantra and Mahamudra
5 day retreat with Lama Palden
Wednesday – Sunday, October 3 – 7, 2018
10:00am-5:00pm – will end at 4pm on Sunday.
In Tibetan Buddhism, every cell of our bodies and every atom in the universe is considered to be pure, nondual love, wisdom, joy, and vast potential. Because we have not yet awakened to reality, we experience this pure energy in a twisted and tangled way – as the conflicted emotions of confusion, anger, depression and lack of motivation, grasping, greed and pride, anxiety and jealousy, etc. A direct and very fruitful path to awakening, then, is in working consciously and creatively with our most difficult emotions, releasing their negativity and experiencing their true nature – love, clarity, understanding, contentment, and courage.
Lama Palden, a master of Tibetan Buddhist practices and a skilled psychotherapist, has developed an innovative approach to working with, transforming and releasing the most challenging emotions (energy blockages) that prevent us from perceiving the wisdom, joy and love of our true nature and the true nature of reality.
In this five-day retreat, Lama Palden will provide teachings on and lead meditations combining the Buddhist Tantra framework of the Five Buddha Families, which classify and work with the universal human problematic emotions and their corresponding wisdoms, with the Mahamudra step-by step meditations for directly recognizing the true nature of mind. The tantric approach provides method for concentration and profound transformation at a psychological and body level, the Mahamudra approach for insight into and recognition of the true nature of mind. Together, these teachings and meditations guide participants into a profound and life-changing experience of understanding, empathy and liberation.
