Awakening the Body, Awakening the Mind: Tibetan Yoga (Lujong) and Meditation
Join us for a morning of Tibetan Yoga (Lujong) and Buddhist meditation practices as we explore the relationship between body and mind on the path towards the realization of our true nature. Buddhism and yoga share many foundational elements that make them highly complementary practices. As students or teachers of yoga, you already understand the transformative power of physical practice, breath, and meditation. In this workshop the teachers will present two forms of meditation that integrate the body as well as the mind: a quiet sitting meditation and the exploration of how Tibetan Yoga awakens the body and strengthens the capacity for one to be grounded, centered and present. This form of yoga (Lujong) is an enlivening practice designed to uncoil the knots of our energy system and open the energy flows of the body. As an active form of movement and meditation, it offers an effective way to bring meditation into our everyday lives in ways that work with the subtle, physical, and most profound dimensions of our body/mind system.
We invite you to explore how these practices can enhance the meditative aspects of one’s yoga practice or yoga teaching. Our morning together will include insightful discussions and experiential sessions of shamatha (calm abiding) meditation and Tibetan Yoga that are suitable for all levels of experience.
