The celebration includes a welcome by the lamas, a guided meditation, music by world-renowned Sitar performer Arjun Verma, poetry selections by Roger Housden and classical Indian dance by Michelle Baird.

ABOUT ARJUN VERMA

Arjun Verma is a master sitarist trained by the legendary Maestro Ali Akbar Khan, with over three decades of international performance experience, including collaborations with the London Symphony Orchestra and work on the soundtrack for Genshin Impact - Sumeru. He has received critical acclaim for his innovative cross-genre compositions and continues to teach North Indian Classical Music at the Ali Akbar College of Music.

ABOUT ROGER HOUSDEN

Roger Housden is the author of over 20+ books on poetry, art, and travel as pilgrimage. His work includes the best-selling Ten Poems to Change Your Life series. He uses writing as a teaching tool for personal exploration and reflection, and runs regular courses in the Bay Area. His work has been featured frequently in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Oprah Magazine. 

ABOUT MICHELLE BAIRD

Michelle is a student in the Shangpa Program at Sukhasiddhi Foundation and High School history teacher in her daily life. Outside of the classroom, she is a Principal Dancer in Dholrhythms, a professional bhangra troupe based in San Francisco that does bhangra or Punjabi folk dance.
