  • Friday, July 28 th at 7pm: Chenrezig Empowerment

  • Saturday, July 29 th 3pm: Chagdrukpa Teaching

  • Sunday, July 30 th 3pm: Chagdrukpa Empowerment

Chenrezig and Chagdrukpa are, respectively, peaceful and wrathful embodiments of compassion. Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the manifestation of universal, unconditioned, boundless compassion, which is our true, undistorted nature. Through meditating on Chenrezig, we transform our distorted view of self, awaken our innate compassion, and come to recognize that we are radiant luminosity. Chenrezig is the gateway to and the essence of Tibetan Buddhism. His mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is known and recited throughout the world. Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche will offer a Chenrezig empowerment on Friday, July 28th at 7:00pm. This empowerment will transmit the wisdom and compassion of Chenrezig, ignite that within participants, and give authorization to engage in the practice of Chenrezig.

Chagdrukpa (Six-arm Mahakala) is the fierce form of Chenrezig. He is the primary protector of the Shangpa Lineage and through his fierce manifestation of compassion, he helps practitioners overcome obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Chagdrukpa welcomes and liberates the most challenging emotions, energies, and forces that we and others experience in this life and beyond. As we develop a relationship with Chagdrukpa, he becomes an unequalled ally on the path.

Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche has a deep connection to Chagdrukpa and will generously offer a teaching on Chagdrukpa on Saturday, July 29th at 3:00pm, and the Chagdrukpa empowerment on Sunday, July 30th at 3:00pm.

Prerequisites:

  • Participants must have taken formal refuge vows in order to participate in the empowerments. If you have not taken refuge and would like to before these events, please indicate this on your registration form.
