Refuge Vow Ceremony

  • Sukhasiddhi Foundation P.O. Box 151327 San Rafael, CA, 94915 United States (map)
Buddha

Take formal refuge in the Buddha, dharma and sangha, or renew your vows.

The Refuge Ceremony goes back to the time of the Buddha. It is a ceremony where we formally make a vow to turn our body, speech, and mind to awakening, to actualize our true nature, our buddha nature, for the liberation of ourselves, and for all others benefit.

It gives us a space to formally set our intention and commitment to awaken and rely on the path of teachings and practices embodied in the lineages of the Buddha. The vow serves as a strong reminder of what we most value, sending us back to what truly helps when the going gets rough and when we are tempted away from living our deepest values.

All are welcome. The ceremony is designed for those taking refuge for the first time or renewing their vows.

Cost: Suggested donation is a sliding scale $25 – $108, which includes dana for the center and for Lama Palden.

Registration is required.
