Finding Inspiration in the Lives of the Karma Kagyu Lineage Masters
In this multi-part series, Lama Döndrup will lead an exploration of the lives and realization of the Karma Kagyu lineage masters. Along with the Shangpa Kagyu practices, Sukhasiddhi Foundation offers teachings and practices from the Karma Kagyu lineage.
In this 6-week series, we will spend time steeping in the biographies and songs of realization (dohas) of Tilopa, Naropa, and Marpa. This is a rich and inspiring way to learn directly from these masters’ realizations as well as their challenges as they walked the path. Though these adepts practiced in the 10th and 11th centuries, we will discover that their experience is relevant to our 21st century lives.
Lama Döndrup will also be leading the special Shangpa practice of Extraordinary Shamatha that comes to us from Niguma by way of the first Kalu Rinpoche. In this practice, we will employ the five elements and five female buddhas as we bring our minds into an experience of calm abiding.
