Join us in celebrating Losar, the Tibetan New Year with a Short Mahakala and Chenrezig Pujas led by Lama Döndrup
As another year of pandemic uncertainty passes, participating in the Short Mahakala Puja followed by a Chenrezig Puja seems the perfect way to close out the old year, cleanse the negativities and difficulties of the past, make heartfelt offerings to the Protector, and make prayers for the beneficial unfolding of the new year with Chenrezig.
2022 in the Tibetan calendar is the year of the Water Tiger. It is a time of courage, strength and overcoming obstacles in a manner that is kind, conscious, communicative, and intuitively attuned to the situation at hand. Given the many challenges of the past year and those before, this is welcome medicine.
How to Participate: All are welcome!
Those who have had the Chagdrukpa empowerment and have done this practice should bring their short Mahakala pecha text (Tibetan).
If you have not received the Chagdrukpa empowerment for this practice, you may observe the puja as a blessing.
We will then do a Chenrezig Puja. You may participate in this practice without having an empowerment or enjoy listening as a blessing. If you need a copy of the puja text, please check that on the registration form.
It is important to stay for the full ceremony.
Find your time zone here.
We hope you can join us!
The Zoom link will be sent separately a day before the event.
Celebrating Losar: the Tibetan New Year
Excerpt from a recent article by Lama Döndrup:
This new lunar year is the year of the Water Tiger. It is a time of courage, strength and overcoming obstacles in a manner that is kind, conscious, communicative, and intuitively attuned to the situation at hand. Given the many challenges of the past year and those before, this is welcomed medicine.
May all your actions of body, speech, and mind bring you more and more into alignment with the dharma and your buddha nature as we cross the threshold into the new year and traverse the new lunar cycle!
